Caution before proceeding

Before installing the Core Assy, it is essential to read these instructions carefully: incorrect installation may void your warranty.

The Core Assy is a highly sophisticated and delicate component of a turbocharger. During installation, take special care not to bump or strike the compressor blades.

This component should be installed only by qualified personnel with specific experience and expertise in the field.

If the turbo you are repairing has Variable Geometry, proceed as follows:

    • Remove and clean the Variable Geometry, checking its integrity.
    • If necessary, replace it with a new one.
    • After assembly, both the Variable Geometry and the actuator (pneumatic, electro-pneumatic, or electric) must be adjusted and calibrated with appropriate equipment (such as a flow bench).

If you are not sure you can perform this procedure, do not install the component and contact DEPROS: we can offer you alternative solutions.

Recommendations for proper installation

Most turbocharger failures are not caused by wear, but by external factors. Before reassembling the turbo, it is therefore essential identify and correct the cause of the failure.

In addition to routine maintenance (oil change, filters, etc.), we recommend checking and, if necessary, repairing:

    • Exhaust system: DPF, catalytic converter, EGR.
    • Intake system: intercooler, air filter and housing, pipes and hoses.
    • Engine control unit, especially if tampered with by previous repairs.
    • Engine breather filter or vapor decantation system.
    • Fuel system.
    • Correct oil supply to the turbo: pipes, hoses, filters.
    • Oil pressure, checking for any obstructions due to poor maintenance or other factors.

Following these recommendations is essential to ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your turbocharger.
